Professor Gatt is Scientific Director at the Sax Institute and Adjunct Professor at the University of New South Wales. She previously led an internationally recognised research program in the neuroscience of wellbeing and resilience to stress and trauma, and supervised research translating this work into interventions to support mental health and wellbeing across the lifespan.
She now leads strategic research and translation initiatives at the Sax Institute, including the 18 and Up Study, a large-scale longitudinal cohort investigating the social, behavioural and environmental determinants of mental health and wellbeing in adulthood. Her current work focuses on strengthening the generation and use of evidence to inform policy and practice and improve population mental health and wellbeing outcomes.
